KJ Rabbitry is located in central Florida, I and the rabbitry are both registered with ARBA (the American Rabbit Breeder's Association). We have been breeding rabbits since 2003. We started back in Kansas with Mini Rexes. I love the breed's personalities and of course the velvet fur, they tend to be very outgoing and sweet rabbits.
My mom first gave me the idea to get a 'mini rabbit' when I was wanting a rat as a pet! - in 2002. I had no idea there was such a thing as a miniature rabbit. So I did some research and found out about the Mini Rex, we went to an ARBA show and I immediately wanted to take a beautiful black doe home. Although I did not bring her home, we found a Mini Rex breeder and got a little buck from her (Jazzmanian). Jazzy was the beginning of a brand new hobby for me!
My preferred feed is 'Pen Pals Professional Rabbit Forumla 16%'. 2-4 weeks before a show I like to give my show bunnies either Manna Pro Sho Supplement, Calf Manna, or my 'Rabbit Granola', a mixture of coat boosting supplements - oats, cornmeal, sunflower seeds, honey, and vitamins. I also feed a handful of coastal or T/A hay at night and they love little treats like carrots, oats, celery, etc!
All of our babies are handled from birth and grow up in a kid filled, fun filled, and loving home!
We use Kintraks Animal Breeder Software as our rabbitry and pedigree program.
